Matthew 18:21; 21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
This is the daily devotional of 9 Nov 2012 and it represents forgiveness for the undeserving. The following verse recorded that Jesus' reply was that to forgive seventy times seven times, that is meaning, all the time. Indeed, to seek for forgiveness is but a step. How many can actually forgive truly? And how many yet, can forgive themselves even with the whole world have already done so?
There is never a coincidence. God wills all things to be that way, and Man adheres to the laws of nature defined by His will. It is not a coincidence that the daily devotional was on the forgiveness of the undeserving, because there and then there was a person who had to, of all things forgive himself in order to move on with a better life. The answer was right there; there were two options and he needed to choose one. It was obvious, the amount of guilt in his heart was more than he could carry. This man, would gladly choose to give it all away, to live life alone once more, and the accept the imminent hatred wrought on him by the very lady that he had loved once so very much.
But God will not have it that way. He have had His plans laid out. At the very last moment, He exercised His power. The line went off and the subsequent moment when the line was redialed, everything had changed. By His grace and His love, unmerited forgiveness showered upon a sinner. There was no resentment, no disillusionment. Only love, only hope, and only faith.
And that moment it dawned upon me. There was one other way, gloriously God's way, full of grace and power. And true to the point the God does things the most unexpectedly, the next 5-10 minutes saw the two of us reaffirming our promises to each other, just like we did more than a year ago. This time, to put Jesus Christ at the center of our relationship. Only God can attempt something so unreal, yet so glorious.
9 Nov 2012, a new lease of life for the two of us. Something special and I pray to my God almighty that He will see us through in all things present. Thank God and thank Jesus Christ. <3
